2017 | Third-year project from BFash (Design) (Hons)
A series of relationships between the body, space, and surface may be established through a garment as it presents an awareness of the participant(audience/viewer)'s own three-dimensional form.
The 'body-worn objects' of this project merges the notion of mutability evident in Kinetic Art with the concept of impermanence that is integral to Japanese floral arrangements.
As an exploration of the relationship between fashion and sculpture (between body and form), the lightweight tulle and satin used in this capsule collection are sublimation printed with warped and tinted flowers to evoke a fluid, tactile experience; a single stem of magnolia laser-etched over the jacket lapel alters in visibility through subtle movements of the body.
